Straightening your teeth at Dentalspa
Here at Dentalspa your dental concerns are important to us and we are happy to offer various options to address them. One of the many growing services we provide is alignment of the teeth. Alignment is used in order to better improve function and aesthetics to your smile. Movement of your teeth can take place through a few different measures however our most popular systems available at Dentalspa are Invisalign or traditional braces. Our dentist Dr Ingrid Rollero is also able to provide early intervention orthodontics to pre-teens.
Invisalign
As we have previously addressed on our blogs, the Invisalign system uses a series of aligners to correct the position of your teeth and bite. The aligners are custom made for each individual and are replaced routinely. They are designed to allow incremental movement of your teeth. The best part about Invisalign is it is essentially invisible. The benefit of this you can still maintain confidence in your smile, while your teeth are being aligned.
Braces
Traditional braces is a fixed option which means the wires and brackets are permanently fixed to your teeth and cannot be removed. As Invisalign can be case selective, braces are ideal for complex cases which may not be suitable. Braces can offer a higher degree of control from the movement provided by brackets and wires.
Braces can also be a good option for those where the discipline of wearing aligners routinely may be an issue. Non-compliance with aligner and retainer wear may happen in with some teenagers and even adults. Unlike Invisalign, fixed braces are visible however we do have many teenagers along with adults in fixed braces at Dentalspa.
We aim to make braces fun, with patients enjoying the change of colours routinely. As braces are becoming increasingly socially acceptable most of our patients adapt very quickly to their new look.
Caring for your teeth during Orthodontics
Oral hygiene with both Invisalign and braces is very important to your treatment. If your teeth don’t remain clean and healthy it can disrupt the treatment plan. Poor oral hygiene may also increase your treatment time.
Did you know clean and healthy teeth and gums result in easier tooth movement?
Keeping teeth, gums and appliances clean does require some extra time and care. Good oral hygiene is also required to keep your smile free from dental decay and gum disease. Please keep this in mind when wishing to undertake any orthodontic treatment as they may require a change in lifestyle.
Our dental team is always here to help with your oral health needs and will go through correct care according to your needs.
If you would like to discuss the Invisalign or fixed braces process further, a no cost initial consult can be provided for you at Dentalspa. Our dentists are happy to advise and inform you on your best treatment options for your individual needs.
